Benazir asks people to be ready for any sacrifice

ISLAMABAD, Feb 22: Former Prime Minister and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto has greeted the Muslims throughout the world on the eve of Eidul Azha.

In her message she said: “It is most unfortunate that Eidul Azha this year in Pakistan is celebrated amid growing poverty, unemployment, inflation and lawlessness which has taken away the true joy and happiness from our people.

“Eidul Azha has a two-fold theme for the Muslims: First, sacrifice in the cause of and in obedience to Allah’s will; and second the unity of the ummat.

“I greet the Muslims throughout the world in general and of Pakistan in particular on this auspicious occasion.

“While it is an occasion of celebration it is also an occasion to remind ourselves the lesson that the great founder of our religion has taught us. That message exhorts us that we must always be prepared and ready to offer the sacrifice of personal comfort, interests and sectional loyalties and much more for achieving a higher aim in life”.
