5 more killed in Waziristan

WANA, March 31: Sporadic clashes continued between militant groups in South Waziristan for the third day on Saturday, killing five more combatants, sources said.

Security officials said troops also pounded bunkers of foreign militants and their local collaborators in Shin Warsak.

The sources said a large number of families left Shin Warsak and Jaghundai areas for safer places during a lull in firing from 12pm to 5pm. They said militant groups led by Maulvi Nazir and Noor Islam continued firing at each other’s positions on Friday night.—Correspondent
