Imran not keen on PCB job

RAWALPINDI, April 11: Former Pakistan captain, Imran Khan on Wednesday stated that he has no inclination whatsoever to hold any office at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and suggested that the trend of chairman’s appointment by President of Pakistan should be abolished at once.

Asked about his views on taking over the board affairs if offered, the former all-rounder categorically stated that he had no such desire.

Regretting that cricket board had run on ad hoc basis for the past nine years, Imran said it was high time that the constitution of the PCB was implemented in order revive the sagging fortunes of the game in the country.

Talking to newsmen here, Imran also announced that his legal cousel will soon be serving a notice on former pace partner Sarfraz Nawaz for making false allegations of gambling against him and other cricketers.

“Sarfraz has brought a bad name to the whole country by making false allegations of match-fixing and gambling on so many respected cricketers and I will shortly get a legal notice served on him,” he said.—PPI
