Pakistan to play Twenty20 Tourney

LAHORE, April 19: Pakistan are likely to play in a quadrangular Twenty20 tournament in Toronto, Canada in August this year.

Sources told Dawn that the West Indies had made a proposal to Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the host Canada for the tournament which starts from Aug 28.

The sources said hopefully Pakistan would play in the four-nation contest, since it would give the team a good practice before going to South Africa in September to play the first Twenty20 World Cup there.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Dr Nasim Ashraf, is going to the West Indies on Saturday to watch World Cup semi-finals and final and he could give a green signal from Pakistan for the Toronto's event, sources said.
