HYDERABAD: SU auditorium named after Shaikh Ayaz

HYDERABAD, April 29: In recognition of invaluable services rendered by Shaikh Ayaz in the fields of literature and education, the University of Sindh has named its arts faculty auditorium as the Shaikh Ayaz auditorium. The approval to the decision was given at a meeting of the university syndicate which also approved establishment of the Hafiza Bano Abbas Bhai memorial college of education under the faculty of education of the university.

It approved the creation of three new posts of lecturers in the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science and one post in the department of Sociology.

The syndicate approved an agreement for educational and cultural cooperation with the University of Venice.

The meeting presided over by Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui.

SCHOLARSHIPS: The University of Sindh has released Rs1.120 million as full free-ship, half free-ship and bursary to 1,239 students for the year 2007.

The award of scholarship was approved at a meeting of the deans of faculties, senior professors, the registrar and the finance director.
