Faisalabad to have cancer hospital

FAISALABAD, May 10: A 150-bed state-of-the-art cancer hospital will be constructed in the city to provide complete diagnostic, radiotherapy, chemotherapy treatment and operation facilities to the patients.

Punjab Institute of Nuclear Medicine director Dr Javed Irfan said here on Wednesday that the land for the hospital has been acquired adjacent to PINUM.

“The PC-1 for the project has been completed and forwarded for approval by the competent authority,” he said, adding that the hospital would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs500 million, and would cater to the needs of patients from Faisalabad and Sargodha.

He said the work would start as soon as the project was approved and funds released.

About the PINUM performance, he said it provided diagnostic as well as treatment facilities to over 11,272 patients during the last four months.—APP
