HYDERABAD: Attack near Baghdad shrine condemned

HYDERABAD, May 30: Jamaat Ahl-i-Sunnat activists staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday to condemn a recent truck bomb attack near the shrine of one of the most respected saints of Islam, Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, in Baghdad, Iraq.

The protesters raised full-throated slogans against the ‘anti-Islam forces,’ holding them responsible for the attack.

Speaking on the occasion, the district Ameer of the Jamaat, Maulana Mehramdin Qadri, Dr Ahsan Nagar and others said that the enemies of Islam were responsible for damaging the shrine of the king of saints.

They said that Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani was held in high esteem by the Muslims and the attack near his shrine was an assault on the entire Muslim world.

Our Nawabshah correspondent adds: Members of the Jamaat Ahl-i-Sunnat took out a rally and staged a demonstration against the attack. The rally stared from the Jamaat office and ended at the local press club.
