Five drown in Dadu canal

DADU, June 3: Five people belonging to two families drowned when a car skidded into canal near the Masoo Sahar village, about 50 kilometres from here, on Sunday.

Reports reaching here said the families of Jalal Khan Khoso and Sikandar Dayo, who were close friends, were returning home after visiting the shrine of local saint Moosa Khatiani when the accident occurred.

Police divers and villagers rescued Nizamuddin (driver) and Jalal Khan Khoso while Sikandar Dayo, his wife, one-year-old daughter Ummi, Jalal’s wife Naziran and his four-year-old daughter Fauzia drowned in the canal.
