DADU, June 7: Hundreds of people including a large number of social workers staged a march in the city on Thursday in protest against spiralling prices of vegetables and food items.

The march was organised by Pakistan Trade Union in which workers of about 25 social organisations participated.

A social worker, Nazeer Ahmed, said that the administration was not taking any action against the local traders and shopkeepers for demanding exorbitant prices for food items.

Rafique Ahmed, another social worker, said that food items had become too expensive for the poor.—Correspondent
