SANGHAR: Traders observe strike
SANGHAR, June 13: Traders observed shutter-down strike and took out a rally in Shahdadpur on Wednesday to protest against deteriorating law and order situation in the town.
Speaking at the end of the rally, traders’ leaders Ismail Malik, Tehseen Nirban, Abu Bakar and others said that the police had failed to control rising crime in the town. They said that five robberies were committed during daytime last week and the police initially refused to lodge cases. Later, they added, the cases were registered but the police had failed to recover the looted amount or arrest the culprits. They said that the traders were gripped by insecurity as they felt that criminals were free to strike at any time.
The traders alleged that TPO Aslam Langah misbehaved with them on Tuesday when they tried to take out a rally.
DPO Ajmal Khan Magsi held talks with the traders and assured them that action would be taken to protect life and property of the people and the erring policemen would be taken to task.
