HYDERABAD: Police accused of trying to hush up murder

HYDERABAD, June 15: The investigations police of Hala have unofficially arrested two accused including an official of Hesco for allegedly murdering a young woman a couple of days ago.

The family members of the deceased, apprehending that the murder case of Nisho, 25, might be hushed up by the investigation wing of Hala police, have demanded of the senior police officials to transfer the investigation of the case to any other zone. It was learnt that both the accused in the case, including Noor Nabi Memon, who the deceased's family said, is a superintendent of Hesco and posted in Tando Adam while the other accused Ayaz Rahu is a taxi driver and were in custody of police.

But their arrest has not been brought on record for unspecified reasons while deceased's family members claimed that they are enjoying all sorts of facilities at police station.

Nisho daughter of Gul Mohammad Bhatti was found dead on June 9 under mysterious circumstances. Her father had found her body in taluka hospital of Hala, Matiari district the same day after he was informed by Noor Nabi Memon, the prime accused.

The post-mortem of the woman’s body has been conducted and medico legal officer has reserved his opinion for want of pathological and chemical examiner's reports that are yet to be communicated to investigation police and MLO concerned.

The girl was mother of three children and had been divorced by her husband, Malik Qadir Bux. She had been maintaining close friendly relation with Memon.

“Yes my daughter had fallen in love with Memon and he has murdered her, “Bhatti told Dawn outside local press club on Thursday where his relatives and family members staged a protest demonstration, seeking justice.

She used to visit Memon in a taxi that was driven by Ayaz Rahu, a co-accused and nominated in FIR no 74/07 lodged under sections 337-J of Qisas and Diyat Ordinance and 302 PPC lodged at Hala police station.

Mr Gul Bhatti said that he had been informed by Rahu that his daughter's condition was not good and she had been shifted to hospital.

He added when he visited the hospital he found that his daughter was already dead. “When I went there I found complexion of my daughter's face black", he said while hinting at possibility of intake of some poisonous substance.—Correspondent
