PHC CJ visits Chitral

CHITRAL, June 15: Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court Justice Tariq Pervez Khan on Friday visited the Chitral Bar Association.

Chitrali lawyers, including members of the Booni and Drosh bar, were present.

President Chitral Bar Association Mohammad Hakeem Khan Advocate gave the welcome address and drew the CJ’s attention towards their problems. He called for the construction of a library at the bar building and the filling of vacant posts of civil judges in Chitral. He also called for the approval of additional sessions’ judge at Mastuj subdivision and construction of rooms for civil judges.

The chief justice assured the bar that all genuine demands would be met. He announced Rs30,000 for the purchase of books for the Chitral bar room and Rs10,000 for the Booni bar. He stressed the need for strong relations between the bench and bar. He said that a new building would be built soon to solve the problem of accommodation for civil judges.—APP
