Multan and Lahore move into TT final

LAHORE, June 22: Lahore and Multan entered the final of the Chief Minister Cup Inter-board table tennis event (boys) on Friday.

Lahore defeated Gujranwala 3-0 in first semi-final while Gujranwala outclassed Multan 3-1.

In the girls event,Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala entered the semi-final. Faisalabad defeated Rawalpindi, while Lahore outclassed Dera Ghazi Khan by identical margin 3-0. Multan beat Bahawalpur while Gujranwala earned victory against Sargodha by identical margin 3-1.

In badminton, the girls competition also entered the semi-final stage.

Results:

Gujranwala Board beat D.G.Khan Boardy 2-0.

Sadia (Guj) beat Uzma by 26-28, 21-11, 21-18

Sadia- Misbah beat Uzma-Sobia 21-18, 21-13.

Multan beat Sargodha 2-0

Naima (Multan) beat Sumaira 21-7, 21-7; Naima-Saba (Multan) beat Sumaira Shumaila 21-10, 21-13.

Rawalpind got walkover against Bahawalpur;Faisalabad beat Multan 2-0.

Marrium (FSD) beat Naima 21-13, 21-16; Marrium-Ghazala beat Naima-Saba by 21-14, 21-11.

Gujranawala beat Rawalpindi 2-0.

Sadia Mukhtar (Gujranwala) beat Iram Zaman 21-17, 21-8.

Sadia-Misbah (Guj) beat Iram-Asma 21-3, 21-10.

Faisalabad beat Lahore Board 2-0.

Marrium (FD) beat Farah 21-16,23-25,23-21; Ghazala-Marrium (FD) beat Farah- Misbah 21-14, 21-18.

Hockey:

Lahore and Faisalabad entered the final of the boys’ hockey.

Lahore defeated Multan 2-0 with Shafqat Ali and Waqas scoring one goal each. Faisalabad beat Gujranwala 4-2. Mudassar (3) and Mohammad Yasir (1) were the scorers for the winners while for Gujranwala Mohammad Asghar and Maqbool Hussain banged home with one goal each.

In girl's event two matches were played.

Faisalabad beat Multan 3-1. Kausur, Nazia Rehmat and Shumaila added one goal each for the winners while Saadia scored the lone for the losers.

Lahore beat Bahawalpur on penalty-stroke 2-1 after playing goalless draw in the regulation time.

Kabaddi:

Lahore and Faisalabad also qualified for the final after winning their respective semi-final. Lahore beat Gujranwala 63-51 points while Faisalabad completed the win with the score of 54-18.

Basketball:

Multan and Faisalabad cruised into the boys final.

Multan defeated Sargodha 34-12 while Faisalabad ousted Lahore 51-48. Lahore were leading at half-time 30-27, but lost the lead in the second half.

In the girls’ event, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi entered the final.

Faisalabad beat Gujranwala 10-9 while Rawalpindi beat Multan 22-13.

Football: Multan entered the final beating Bahawalpur 4-0 with Kashif, Ali Raza scoring two goals each.

Volleyball:

In girls’ event, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala entered the final. Bahawalpur beat Lahore 25-18, 14-25, 25-14 while Gujranwala registered victory against Faisalabad 25-16, 25-11.
