EC inquiry in Larkana

ISLAMABAD, July 19: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Qazi Muhammad Farooq will send a senior officer of the Election Commission to Larkana for investigating the allegations levelled by Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto about defective voters’ list after receiving another letter from her.

According to an announcement, the EC officer will hold an inquiry in Ms Bhutto’s home constituency (NA-207 Larkana-IV).

Meanwhile, PPP spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that Ms Bhutto had written fourth letter to the CEC on the deficient electoral list. He said Ms Bhutto in her letter had attached two annexures, one about missing votes in the constituency of NA-207 of the Larkana district and the second about discrepancies in the registered votes in various union councils.

In her letters, Benazir Bhutto has alleged that Nadra has issued computerised national identity cards to 11 minors of 13 to 14 years of age in village Pir Goth of UC Naudero.
