HYDERABAD: Paramedics give ultimatum

HYDERABAD, July 31: The activists of Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association, Hyderabad chapter, staged a token hunger strike outside the press club here on Tuesday for the formulation of their service structure.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Ali Chandio, Mohammad Sharif Palari, Mir Mashooq Ali, Ghulam Mustafa Rahujo and others said that the paramedical staff had been protesting for years for the formulation of their service structure but the authorities had taken no notice of their frequent protests.

They complained that favourites of the authorities concerned were being appointed in the health department while the children of retired and deceased employees were being ignored.

They warned that if their problems were not resolved by August 3, the employees of the whole province will gather at Hyderabad and boycott the hospitals and stage protest demonstrations.

Meanwhile, the college teachers under the banner of SPLA continued their hunger strike on the 15th consecutive day here on Tuesday for the acceptance of their demands.
