HYDERABAD: Grid station operational in fortnight

HYDERABAD, Aug 4: Federal Minister for Water and Power, Liaquat Ali Jatoi on Saturday visited Dadu grid station and inspected the transformer which caught fire three days back.

Amir Hussain, General Manager Wapda told the minister that the cause of fire was due to short-circuit. He said the Rs40 million worth transformer was China made and insured.

He said installation of new transformer will take 15 days while four districts were getting electricity from other lines. The entire area will get power after installation of new transformer.

Later, the minister paid a surprise visit to the Civil Hospital Dadu and suspended one doctor and storekeeper on public complaints. He visited various wards of the hospital and inquired from patients about the availability of medicines.

He asked the Civil Surgeon and the EDO to provide maximum medical assistance to poor patients.
