SWABI: JUI threatens protest drive

SWABI, March 12: NWFP Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam on Tuesday threatened to launch a protest campaign if the government fails to release the the party’s chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, by March 17.

Terming the continued detention of Maulana Rehman a violation of the constitution, brutal and un-Islamic, a JUI leader, Al-Haaj Mohammad Riaz, said that if the leader was not released by the deadline, the party would launch an agitation from March 22.—NNI
