Punjab team named for CM badminton

LAHORE, Aug 18: The Lahore District Badminton Association (LDBA) on Saturday named its team for the Chief Minister Punjab Inter district badminton tournament being played in Rawalpindi from August 20.

According to a spokesman of the LDBA, “The team comprises the most talented men and women who are hopefully going to produce the desired results. National champion Wajid Ali will lead the 10-member team which includes Waqas Ahmad, Kashif Sulehri, Zafar Tasneem, Rizwan Rana, Attique Chaudhary, Asam Butt, Uzma Butt, Aneeqa Rana and Fozia Mughal.

President, LDBA, Shahnawaz Malik is the chef de mission while Secretary, LDBA, Waseem Ahmad Butt will be accompanying the team as manager.

According to the Patron and President, Punjab Badminton Association Aamer Hayat Khan, that best players from this tournament will be sent to India to take part in the Indo-Pak (Punjab) badminton test match series to be held there in October.—APP
