Eight ties decided in Punjab Open qualifiers: Squash
LAHORE, Aug 26: Eight matches were decided in the first round of the Punjab Open squash qualifiers being held at the Punjab Squash Complex on Sunday.
The second round of the event will commence on Monday.
The four winners of round two will then move on to the main round on Tuesday.
In Sunday’s matches, Aurangzeb Khan (Punjab) and Asif Khan (NWFP) faced tough completion — Aurangzeb beat Farhan Zaman (Navy) 11-6,
11-9, 7-11, 1-11, 11-10 and Asif struggled for 38 minutes to dispose off Jehanzeb Masood (HEC) 10-12, 11-0, 11-7, 9-11, 11-7.
Meanwhile Shoaib Hassan (Punjab) ousted Zahir Shah (NWFP) 10-12, 11-9, 11-5, 11-6 to enter the second round.
