MARDAN: Ulema urged to promote peace

MARDAN, Aug 30: Speakers at a seminar on Thursday urged religious scholars to promote peace and social harmony.

On the occasion, several ulema put forward suggestions and assured the administration of their full cooperation in the noble cause.

They said that Islam’s image was being tarnished under a conspiracy as they were being linked with terrorism and intolerance.

They suggested that a committee of ulema be formed at different levels to work out a plan that would help create a congenial atmosphere in the country.

The district nazim hoped that the ulema would continue to support the district and provincial governments.
