Imran urges parties to unite against Musharraf
SIALKOT, Sept 5: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan has urged the political parties to shun their mutual differences and unit against the re-election of Gen Pervaiz Musharraf as president.
He was addressing a public meeting at Imam Sahib Ground here late on Tuesday.
He urged the `democratic forces’ to unite for the sake of establishing a sustainable democracy and the allied norms in the country.
He said the days of the rulers were numbered and the nation would soon get `good news’.
NAROWAL: Addressing the District Bar Association (DBA) here on Wednesday, Imran Khan said the second phase of the lawyers’ movement was aimed at opposing Gen Musharraf’s re-election and restoration of the Constitution. “Political forces should remain more alert during this phase,” he said.
He said: “Free and independent judiciary is a force which keeps monitoring the balance of power among various institutions and does not let any institution go beyond its limits.”
Later, addressing a public meeting at here, Imran Khan strongly criticised the government. He said the greatest threat to the country was not extremism, but the `war against terrorism’.
