GHALANAI, Sept 9: The Safi tribe and the local Taliban on Sunday reached an agreement to stop attacks on security forces and government installations in the Mohmand Agency.

Sources said that the elders of the Safi tribe would take the political agent into confidence about the agreement at a meeting on Monday.

Sources said that the agreement made it binding on the administration that no action would be taken against the local Taliban who would stop attacks on security forces and government installations and would not disturb peace in the agency.

On the other hand, the Safi tribesmen would extend support to the administration in case of violation of the agreement by the Taliban.
