HYDERABAD: DCO wants budgetary targets achieved
HYDERABAD, Sept 25: District Coordination Officer Aftab Ahmed Khatri has directed the officers concerned to adopt integrated strategy and ensure that targets fixed by the district nazim in his budgetary speech are achieved.
He gave these directives while presiding a meeting to review the progress and achievements of budget targets fixed by the District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building, on Tuesday.
The DCO said Zila Nazim Hyderabad was keen on providing better health facilities and allocated major share of the district budget for it.
He said number of development schemes had been launched under this share including provision of latest medical equipments to 66 units, establishment of 27 diabetic centres, installation of water filter plants in hospitals, provision of pheco and lasser machine for eye surgeries at Paretabad and Qasimabad hospitals, launching of hepatitis B&C Care and Cure facilities, establishing dialysis centre at Bhittai Hospital and making available sufficient stock of medicines at hospitals.
He directed to achieve these targets before the end of current fiscal.
The DCO said Zila Nazim had given the target for repairs and renovation of hospitals as such 34 different development works of M&R had been initiated at the cost of Rs16 million and directed the officers to complete these by end of this financial year.
The focal person for Health Q. Hakim said Zila Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil had included three more targets including conversion of Kohisar Hospital into Child Care Hospital with latest facilities, upgradation of the government dispensary at Latifabad Unit#6 and launching care and cure facilities to combat hepatitis B & C in coordination with the Prime Minister Programme.
He said Zila Nazim had earmarked Rs7.5 million for care & cure facilities of hepatitis B & C but it will be more effective if the amount was utilised with the coordination of the Prime Minister Programme for the purpose.
The EDO Health Hyderabad Sharif Rathore while briefing the meeting about the progress of health department informed that an amount of Rs60 million had been earmarked by Zila Nazim for purchase of medicines and added that formalities to invite tenders for procurement of medicines would be completed by the end of next month. He said establishment of 27 diabetic centres in the district will be completed within couple of months, while installation of two water filter plants, one each at Qasimabad and Bhittai hospitals will be completed by November.
