DADU : Revenue official suspended

DADU, Oct 1: The mukhtiarkar of Kotri has been suspended by the Jamshoro district nazim for preparing fake documents of revenue records in Deh Son Walhar and misusing the powers.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment, on Monday seized the record for investigation.

Jamshoro District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar suspended the mukhtiarkar Mohammad Arif Kalwar and gave the additional charge of mukhtiarkar to mukhtiarkar of Thana Bula Khan, Imdad Hussain Kutrio.

Mr Sikandar said the mukhtiarkar had handed over the possession of 68 acres of land in Deh Son Walhar, worth Rs1,250 million to an industrialist of Fateh Group after taking bribe.

The nazim directed the DCO and the EDO Revenue to conduct an enquiry and send report within 10 days. He said he would send this case to NAB after completing enquiry.

The EDO Revenue Kotri, Zahid Hussain Memon said Fatah Akbar Mohammad, industrialist group presented documents of 68 acres of land in Deh Son Walhar prepared by the revenue officials. He said according to documents, in 1963-64 this land was sold by the then deputy commissioner to a cement factory.

He said work at the site was started by the Fateh Group but on the directives of Zila Nazim Jamshoro it was stopped and the DDO Revenue Sohail Adeeb Bachani was conducting the enquiry.

Senior General Manager of Fatah Group of Industries, Khalid Malik told Dawn by telephone that the land was purchased by the Fateh Group in 1963-64 from the then deputy commissioner Dadu.

He said the additional Registrar Hyderabad had registered their land and in 1985 Director Settlement Survey Hyderabad office measured this land and all recorded was available in the offices of Revenue Department Jamshoro district.

He said on the basis of this record, Mukhtiarkar Kotri handed over them possession of the land, but now this work was stopped by local administration for being illegal. He denied the charges of preparing fake documents of this land.

The DDO Revenue Kotri, who was investigating case on the directives of district Nazim Sohail Adeeb Bachani told this correspondent that land belonged to Revenue Depart-ment, hence he rushed at site and stopped the work on the directives of EDO Revenue and other senior officials.

He said he had sent the record/letters to director Settlement Survey Hyderabad and additional registrar Hyderabad and the EDO Revenue Dadu for verification. He said an enquiry was going on the directives of Zila Nazim.
