Agenda of talks with Taliban to be discussed
ISLAMABAD, Oct 23: A committee of the Pakistan-Afghan Joint Peace Jirga Commission (JPJC) will meet here in the first week of November to finalise the agenda of talks to be initiated with Taliban.
This was stated at a meeting between the Deputy Chairman of the Jirga Monitoring Commission of Afghanistan, Farooq Wardak, and Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao here on Tuesday.
An Afghan delegation headed by Mr Wardak is here to finalise the agenda of the meetings to be held with elements involved in terrorism in the two countries.
The meeting was informed that the committee, also known as Jirgagai (smaller Jirga), comprises 50 members, 25 from each side, would hold separate meetings with Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan, sources told Dawn.
They said that the Afghan delegation had provided names of its 25 members and the Pakistani side would name its members in couple of days. According to a press release, the smaller Jirga would be assigned the task of expediting dialogue with Taliban.
