HYDERABAD: PPP activists granted bail

HYDERABAD, Nov 12: Seven activists of PPP were released after they were granted bail in cases of violation of section 144 Cr.PC by different courts here on Monday. Those who were granted bail were Rizwan Mughal, Shoaib, Dr.Arshad Abro, Noor un Nisa Abro, Firdous Abro, Reshma Baloch (arrested by Baldia police), Zahid Baig, Raheem Gul Chandio, Qasim Shoro (Phulelli police), Ibrar Qureshi and Saleem Qureshi (A-section police), Bahram Mughal, Waheed Jatoi and Sohail Siyal (Hussainabad police). All of them were granted bail in a sum of Rs30,000 each by civil judge and judicial magistrate-I.

Zulfikar and Mazhar Soomro were granted bail by the civil judge and judicial magistrate-IV in a sum of Rs15,000 each.

Our Correspondent from Khairpur adds: The civil judge and judicial magistrate I, Khairpur, Abul Aala Jatoi, granted bail to 64 activists of the Pakistan People’s Party.

They were arrested by the police after they took out a rally against imposition of emergency here on Sunday.

VNC’s: The process of elections of Village and Neighbourhood Councils (VNCs) in Gambat taluka completed on Sunday.

VNCs are new tier added to the present devolution system and currently it was being introduced by the Devolution Trust of Community Empowerment (DTCE) on pilot basis in selected locations of the country.

DTCE, in collaboration with District NGOs Coordination Council (DNCC) conducted the elections in collaboration with the taluka administration Gambat in nine union councils of Gambat taluka for 63 village and neighbourhood councils from November 9 to 11.
