Wapda retain women’s volleyball crown

ISLAMABAD, Nov 15: Showing their prowess and greater anticipation Wapda women’s team retained the national volleyball title, beating Punjab 3-1 in the seventh National Volleyball Championship final at the Rodham Hall, PSB Complex on Thursday.

Punjab won the opening set 25-14. But Wapda displayed brilliant shooting and solid defence to win the remaining sets 25-20, 25-13, 25-19 to grab the title for the fourth successive time.

Earlier, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) outplayed Islamabad 2-0 (25-14, 25-5) to secure third position in the championship.—APP
