QUETTA, Nov 16: Fourteen people were arrested after activists of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) held demonstrations in Quetta and other districts of Balochistan on Friday against the imposition of emergency.

In Quetta, protesters demanded release of lawyers and political workers and lifting of ban on the electronic media.

Protest rallies were also held in Pishin, Chaman, Duki, Nushki and Khuzdar.

Jamaat-i-Islami members held a separate rally near the Chaman Phatak.
