National volleyball put off

LAHORE, Dec 8: The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has postponed the national championship scheduled to start from December 31 in Dera Ghazi Khan keeping in view the next general elections due in January.

According to the new schedule released by the PVF, the national championship will be held from January 22 to 28 at Dera Ghazi Khan.

Major (retd) Mohammad Afzal, Secretary Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), said it has been deicide to postpone the national event scheduled to be held at Dera Ghazi Khan from December

31 to January 6 due to upcom-ing general elections on January 8.

PVF secretary added that 18 teams including Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Police, HEC, Fata, NWFP, Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, AJK, Wapda, Railways, POF, PEB, Frontier constabulary, Pakistan Steel and Fana would participate in the event.—Agencies
