SWABI: Sri Lankan team visits institute

SWABI, Dec 10: A six-member delegation of the Ceylinco Consolidated Colombo, Sri Lanka’s oldest and largest business conglomerate, visited the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Monday.

Former Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Pakistan Gen Sri Lal Weera led the delegation.

GIK Institute pro-rector (academic) Prof Dr F. Ahmad Khalid briefed the delegation about the curricular and co-curricular activities, undergraduate, MS and PhD programme offered at the institute.

The purpose of the visit was to prepare ground for launching a joint venture in the engineering field by the Ceylinco Consolidated and GIK Institute. The two sides agreed to hold more talks to reach an accord.

The delegation visited various faculties and appreciated the facilities provided at the laboratories of the institute.
