Germany tops hockey rankings

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10: Germany are back on top of men’s world rankings after their Champions Trophy win here on Sunday. The world champions had lost their top spot after finishing fourth at the European Nations Championships but the win over Australia in the Trophy final was enough to get them back at the top.

Germany is ranked first with 1921 points while Champions Trophy runner-up Australia has moved back to second place and is only 23 points behind Germany.

The Netherlands, bronze medalist at Champions Trophy, remains third while Spain is ranked fourth. England has also moved up one place to eighth, ahead of India.—Agencies
