HYDERABAD: Two held for selling liquor

HYDERABAD, Dec 14: The Market police arrested two men for selling liquor on Friday.

Four people had lost their lives in Salawat Para and Gharibabad a week ago after consuming poisonous spirit.

The families of the deceased didn’t disclose the matter because of social stigma.

The deceased include 26-year-old Imran; Ashraf alias Manu, 42; Shahabuddin alias Gaga Chandio, 35; all residents of Salawat para, and a sweeper, Heera Lal.

The family members of the deceased were reluctant to speak to media.

The father of Shahabuddin had denied that his son used to drink and said he died of cardiac arrest.

Police first picked up a labourer, Pervez, a friend of the deceased. He disclosed that they had bought the spirit from Ravi Lala and Ashok in sweepers’ colony.

Police then arrested Ravi and Papu alias Kalu from there on Friday.

Police have lodged a case on complaint of the SHO Market police station.

It is not the first time that people of Salawat para died of consumption of liquor as such incidents had been happened in past.
