THATTA: Six injured

THATTA, Dec 23: Six political activists of the PPP and the PML-Q were injured following an alleged attack and counter-attack on election camps of their parties’ candidates in Mirpur Sakro on Saturday.

Sassui Palijo, a candidate on PS-85 Thatta-II alleged that activists of her rival party had attacked her camp office in Ghulamullah town with fire arms, resulted in injuries to her party activists, Ayaz Ali Malkani, Islamuddin and Bux Ali Malkani. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Makli.

On refusal of registration of an FIR by the Sakro police, PPP activists took out a procession in Thatta town against the police for favouring the PML-Q attackers in Sakro.

The PML-Q leaders claimed that the PPP activists attacked their Pir Jo Goth election office with fire arms and severely injured Shirazi group’s three activists, Yar Mohammad Memon, Siddique Memon and Comrade Bijli.All the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Makli.

The candidate for NA-237, Syed Riaz Shah Shirazi, had alleged that PPP activists were pressurising his party activists to join them.
