NAWABSHAH: Report sought on minister’s role

NAWABSHAH, Dec 25: The 1st senior civil judge and returning officer for PS-27 has directed the district police officer of Nawabshah to submit report on a complaint against a Sindh caretaker minister for running election campaign of his son.

In the order the judge and returning officer for PS-27 (Nawabshah-IV), Ramesh Kumar, directed the DPO to submit a report on a complaint against Ghulam Rasool Unnar, caretaker minister for Forests & wildlife about running election campaign of his son Abdul Hafeez Unnar for PS-27 seat.

This was the second complaint against the caretaker minister made by Ghulam Qadir Chandio, acting district president of PPP and PPP candidate for PS-27.

Complainant alleged the minister of visiting the village of Ali Khan Jamali, son of Mir Maqbool Khan Jamali, with police escort and threatening and pressuring him and other voters by using his influence to vote for his son.

The complainant has prayed for stern legal action against the minister and restraining him from running the campaign of his son in future.

The DPO could not be approached for comments.

REJOINS PPP: Former MNA Syed Noor Ahmed Shah has re-joined PPP, here on Monday. Mr Shah announced this after a meeting with Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Chaudhry Tariq Masood Arain and Ahmed Ali Jalbani, candidates of PPP for NA-213, PS-24 and PS-25 respectively.

Mr Shah had won the national assembly seat unopposed on ticket of PPP back in 1970 but quit the party later and joined PML-Q in 2002.

LOOTED: Three men barged in to the house of a minority councillor Hiromal in old Nawabshah and deprived the inmates of cash and other valuables on Tuesday.
