Flour short in Hafizabad

HAFIZABAD, Jan 3: The district is facing flour shortage as profiteers are fleecing consumers without fearing any governmental check.

Reports said flour was being sold at Rs25 per kilogram in the market while grinders were charging from Rs20 to Rs22 for the quantity.

District nazim has ordered the price control committees to take steps to provide relief to people.

EXTORTION: Extortion continuing in the name of toll tax in the district was declared illegal on Thursday following public complaints.

Reports said the DDO (co-ordination) concerned had been informed by members of public that at least at 14 points in the Hafizabad city extortion was going on in the name of toll tax.

The officer, after confirming the reports, declared the unauthorised collection of `tax’ illegal.
