HYDERABAD: Sindh seeks funds from centre to compensate losses

HYDERABAD, Jan 4: Caretaker Sindh minister for local government, Syed Saleem Ahmed Zaidi, has said that Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, has approached the federal government for funds in order to compensate the victims for losses caused to their properties during recent violence.

He was talking to the victims of violence during inspection of damaged sites in Qasimabad here on Friday.

The district nazim of Hyderabad, Kanwar Naveed Jamil, DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri, DPO Imran Shaukat and other officers of the district and provincial governments also accompanied him.

The caretaker minister informed the people who gathered while he was visiting Qasimabad that Sindh Governor was making sincere efforts and was in touch with different organisations since this unfortunate incident took place so that proper relief to violence victims could be provided.

He said that governor has taken various steps in this regard and his visit to Hyderabad and interior of Sindh was because of his directives.

Syed Saleem Ahmed Zaidi said that he came here to convey the message of Sindh Governor that he and his government were with the victims of violence during this difficult time.

Lauding the role of district nazim for the restoration of normalcy and communication system, restoration of business activities in the district and providing relief to the stranded people without any discrimination, Syed Saleem Ahmed Zaidi advised the victims of violence to furnish actual details of their losses to the committees formed by the district government for data collection so that their claims of compensation could be processed by the concerned quarter within shortest possible time.
