ABBOTTABAD: Fare raised

ABBOTTABAD, Jan 6: Owners of public transport vehicles which run on CNG have raised their fare after the government announced an increase in the price of CNG, according to residents.

Public transport vehicles, mainly pick-ups, are now charging higher fare for Mandian, Nawanshehr, Kakul, Mirpur and other areas.

After the increase in CNG prices, the drivers said that as they had to pay more for fuel and other items, particularly food, they had raised their fare.

However, the people said local transport authorities should fix the fare in accordance with the increase in fuel prices. They said that the drivers should also be bound to display the fare list in their vehicles.—Correspondent
