KARACHI, Jan 8: Ten ships carrying containers and to load molasses and cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships, Wan Hai-302, Mol Admiration, Norasia Alps to unload and load containers, Minh Tho-18 to unload and load general cargo, Sea Princess to load cement, Ariclla to offload urea, Noor-e-Madina to load clinkers and Gulf Grace to load naphtha were accommodated berths.

Five ships, Oel Strength, Emirates Adam, Darya Raag, Global Union and Sammi Superstar departed on Tuesday, while Itha Bhum, Norasia Alps, Wan Hai-302, Ikan Altamira, Noor-e-Madina and Gulf Grace are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 84,677 tons comprising 29,961 tons of export cargo and 54,716 tons of import cargo was handled on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Merlio Explorer to load 35,000 tons of molasses, Swat to offload crude oil, Ninth Ocean, Kota Mesra, Hyundai Stride, Ole Trust and Helence Rickmers with containers and Wales to load 23,000 tons of cement.
