PCB deprives local cricket body of organising honours: Zimbabwe ODI in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, Jan 14: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has excluded host Hyderabad District Cricket Association from the regional organising committee which will organise an ODI against Zimbabwe on Jan 24.

The committee has been formed by PCB general manager Col Mohammad Zulfikar. It comprises two separate bodies for security and administration.

The security committee consists of regional police officer, DIG Police, SP Special Branch, SP traffic and Col Mohammad Zulfikar, while the administration committee comprises district coordination officer, Col Mohammad Zulfikar, Shoaib Ahmed (media coordinator Karachi), RDM, EDOs of revenue and health, Hesco CEO and president of the regional cricket association.

The district nazim will be the chairman of the organising committee. When PCB regional development manager Abdul Hussain Shah was contacted to inquire about the organising committee, he said the committee was formed by the PCB headquarter in Lahore and he is also one of its members.

He added that he would however hold a meeting with local cricket associations about forming various committees for organising the match in a befitting manner.

Meanwhile, the PCB has been paying little attention to the publicity aspect of the match.

The match is ten days away and the people of Hyderabad and its adjoining areas are yet to be informed about it.

Renovation of dressing rooms, stairs, scoreboard and patchwork of outfield at the Niaz Stadium are underway on war footings. PCB's marketing coordinator Sofia Khan was in the city on Monday. In her previous visit she had met local business community.
