HYDERABAD: Tenders for 5-star hotel soon

HYDERABAD, Jan 24: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil said on Thursday that the district government was preparing a tender to be floated in the first week of February for the construction of a five-star hotel near Niaz Stadium.

He told journalists during his visit to the Niaz Stadium where an international cricket match was being played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe that EDO of revenue Barkat Rizvi was preparing the tender and the district government had identified a five-acre piece of land near Niaz Stadium for the hotel.

The district government would try to ensure that people who were running five star hotels within the country and abroad participated in the bidding process, he said.

Mr Jamil said that the tender would mention deadline for the construction of hotel to stop builders-cum-investors from joining the race.

He said that he had spoken to the governor of Sindh about Hyderabad Airport and the “governor is very keen to see the airport fully functional. He has proposed a meeting between the district government and PIA management to discuss (commencement of) flight operations.”

He said that the Pakistan Cricket Board planned to raise structures in certain portions of the stadium to increase its seating capacity.
