KHAIRPUR: 3 held for suspected links with bandit
KHAIRPUR, Jan 25: Sobhodero police arrested two men including a UC nazim on Thursday for suspected links with a dacoit.
Reports said that Sobhodero and Gambat police raided village Khemtia and arrested Younus Khemtio, nazim UC Khemtio, taluka Gambat.
The police also raided another village and arrested Rustam Tanhwar and both of them were lodged at Sobhodero police station.
They were arrested them for their alleged connection with a dacoit Gulab Jeho, who was involved in kidnapping of three traders, Bashir Channa, Shabbir Channa and Nazeer Panhwar.
The Khairpur police earlier arrested Usman Samejo from Sukkur on Wednesday who was reportedly demanding ransom from relatives of the three kidnapped traders of Ranipur.
Reports said that a special police team comprising senior police officials interrogated the arrested men on Thursday.
Sobhodero police claimed that they had found a clue of the UC nazim and criminal’s alleged connection with the dacoit during interrogation with Usman Samejo.
However, Israr Khemtio and other relatives of the UC nazim told reporters on Friday that they were supporters of the People’s Party and therefore he has been arrested for political reasons.
UC nazim Younus Khemtio told reporters on Friday that he was an Awam Dost Panel UC nazim and has been arrested only for political victimisation. It must be noted here that Bashir Channa, his brother Shabbir Channa and friend Nazeer Panhwar were kidnapped on January 7, from Agra-Nau Pathano road.
BOOKED: Four people including Hesco SDO have been booked with Mohammad Bindo police on Thursday evening.
A complainant, Sobal Odho, nominated Hesco SDO Priyaloi, Ashfaq Ahmed Bhatti and three other Hesco employees, Mohammad Sharif Baloch, Abdul Saboor Qureshi and Ajeeb Memon.
He alleged in the FIR that an electricity wire was lying on ground near Bacha Bund agricultural land of Gul Baig Odho, wherein his cousin, Shaban, 57, was entangled and electrocuted.
The relatives of the deceased led by notables of the area staged a demonstration in Pir Jo Goth on Friday against the Hesco authorities.
They told reporters that they had informed the Hesco officials that the electricity wire was lying there but they did not take any action and the incident occurred due to the negligence of the Hesco officials.
