Nuclear assets in safe hands, says Fazl

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman said on Sunday that Pakistan’s nuclear assets were in safe hands and statements in this connection were hypothetical.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said the MMA could not be dubbed as ‘extremist’ as it supported nuclear policy for peaceful purposes. The MMA is contesting elections and believes in resolving all contentious issues through dialogue, he said.

Calling for transparent elections and empowerment of people, he said the country was passing through a critical phase and all should jointly strive to make Pakistan prosperous.
