Arms, fake currency notes seized

GUJAR KHAN, Feb 3: The Punjab highway patrolling police said it seized arms, fake currency notes and provided assistance to the commuters in Rawalpindi last month.

Dr Mohammad Azam, the regional superintendent of PHPP Rawalpindi region, said two suspicious vehicles were impounded, while a Kalashnikov, a 44-bore rifle, two pistols and 441 rounds were recovered.

He claimed of recovering looted money amounting to Rs11,180, cellphones, wrist watches and fake currency notes worth Rs1,013,500 from the possession of the outlaws.

About 217 commuters and road users were assisted by the police, while a missing child, Asad Naseeb, of district Poonch AJK, was found and handed over to his parents.
