Concerned citizens’ car rally

LAHORE, Feb 8: The Concerned Citizens of Pakistan are set to take a car rally to Islamabad at 7am on Saturday (today). The rally, which will begin its journey from outside the Zaman Park residence of Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsen, will join a convention of the Pakistan Bar Council in Islamabad.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, rally coordinator Beena Qureshi said lawyers, students and activists of civil society and political parties would participate in the rally. She said the car rally would also visit Ahsen’s residence in Islamabad before attending the convention.

Activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People’s Party have promised to join the rally, she said, when asked about the participation of political parties. She said lawyers from the Lahore Bar Association would join the rally from Aiwan-e-Adl. —Reporter
