CSF report on Pakistan shortly
KARACHI, 13 Feb: The Competitive Support Fund (CSF) informed the participants of a roundtable on Wednesday that the State of Pakistan’s Competitiveness Report will be an important policy tool for economic growth agenda and for private sector investment, offering invaluable insights into the policies, institutions, and factors driving productivity.
The roundtable on the competitiveness report held in Karachi was jointly organised by the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) and the CSF.
The CSF, a joint initiative of the USAID and ministry of finance, is in the process of preparing the second competitiveness report 2008.
Mr. Kwang Kim, the expert from the CSF leading the team for drafting the report, briefed the participants about the CSF activities and said, “Competitiveness is the fundamental underpinning of prosperity.
Competitiveness is also essential to allow sound macroeconomic policies to be sustained and while the short-term management remains important, the central focus of public policy must be on competitiveness”.
Sayed Saleem Raza, CEO of the PBC, appreciated the efforts of CSF and said that such reports can facilitate dialogue between the public and private sectors on issues holding back growth.
