NAWABSHAH: Protest against suspension of train service

NAWABSHAH, Feb 13: The activists of the Pakhtoon Welfare Society along with local traders staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday to protest against the suspension of Balochistan night coach train service.

They carried banners and placards and raised slogans against the railways authorities.

Speaking on the occasion, chairman of the society, Mr Naimatullah, president Jan Mohammad, president Sarafa union Haji Aslam Shaikh and others said that a large number of people travelling to Quetta faced difficulties due to the suspension of the train service.

They said it was the only train benefiting people to travel to Quetta and was also generating revenue for the railways.

They criticised the decision of the authorities and demanded immediate restoration of the service.

KILLED: A man was killed while two others received injuries when a tractor-trolley hit their motorcycle rickshaw near a local sugar mills, here on Wednesday.

Dilshad Khaskheli, 25, was killed while Irfan and Waseem were injured in the incident.

The injured were shifted to NMC hospital.

DEMO: Sugarcane growers staged a demonstration outside the local press club here on Wednesday to protest against the sugar mills for not issuing indents to them.

Growers Ziaul Haq Abbasi, Mohammad Ismail Abro, Iqbal Ahmed, Mir Hassan and others told media that sugar mills of the district were not issuing indents and were purchasing cane through brokers.
