Pakistan reach last eight at Asian Team Squash

KARACHI, Feb 19: Pakistan registered a double triumph to advance into the quarter-finals of the 14th Asian Senior Team Squash Championship with straightforward and identical 3-0 victories against Korea and Iran in Kuwait, according to a message received here on Tuesday.

Pakistan quartet of Yasir Butt, Majid Khan, Shahid Zaman and Bilal Zaman faced no problems securing an easy passage into the knock-out round.

Former World Junior Championship runners-up Yasir Butt was in devastating form in the second round league match against Iran when he demolished Mohammad Reza Sadeerghpur without dropping a single point.

Results:

Pakistan bt Korea 3-0.

Yasir Ali Butt bt Lee Se-Hyun 9-1, 9-2, 9-1; Majid Khan bt Lee-Seung 9-1, 9-4, 9-0; Shahid Zaman bt Lee Hyeon Ho 9-2, 9-2, 9-6.

Pakistan bt Iran 3-0.
