NAWABSHAH: Transfer of police officer criticised
NAWABSHAH, Feb 22: The local chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party has condemned the suspension and transfer of the Nawabshah SP Investigation and demanded immediate arrest of culprits involved in the murder of a party worker.
Acting district president of PPP, Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Nawabshah taluka, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and Dur Mohammad Laghari and relatives of deceased PPP worker, Abdul Rasheed Laghari, told journalists that PPP workers were attacked and fired upon on the instruction of PML-Q leader Khan Mohammad Dahiri, Abdul Hafeez Unnar and Imdad Rahu on February 8 in Ghulam Shah Laghari village.
They further said that Abdul Rasheed Laghari lost his life while secretary of PPP Sakrand, Ghulam Shah Laghari, and two others were seriously injured.
They alleged that the accused nominated in the FIR were trying to drop their names from the case through influence.
They said the nominated accused recorded statements of two witnesses under section 161 justifying that they were not present on the spot at the time of incident while two others recorded their statement under section 164 confirming their presence but they were released under section 169.
They said that SP investigation Nawabshah, Altaf Laghari, was under pressure to drop their names but as the deceased’s father field a re-investigation application, the SP acted as per law and re-entered their names in the FIR.
They further said that SP Investigation was about to sign a letter for recommendation of challan but he was suspended and asked to leave the charge immediately.
They said that DPO Nawabshah, Syed Ghayasuddin Rashidi, was a supporter of PML-Q and had not acted independently and expressed their reservations that the DPO could favour the accused.
