Younis not too concerned over low IPL bid

LAHORE, Feb 22: Pakistan batting icon Younis Khan is not too concerned about getting a low bid in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is looking forward to the remuneration.

“I don’t know what I have been offered for playing in the IPL, but if it is low compared to the other players, I think it will get better the next time

as then the player’s performance in the league matches

will also be taken into account,” said Younis while talking to reporters after leading NWFP against Punjab on the first day of the Pentangular Cup match at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.

The IPL, which had offered millions of US dollars to many star cricketers of the world, bid US$225,000 for Younis which seems less when compared with the $675,000 offered to Shahid Afridi.

“The amount doesn’t matter. It’s your performance that’s most important and that is what I will be focussing on,” said Younis.

He added that the expected home series against India would be helpful in preparing Pakistan for the tough battle against Australia.
