PESHAWAR: Imamia jirga leader shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Feb 26: A leader of the Imamia jirga was shot dead by some people at the Shahbaz Chowk in the Khan Raziq police area on Tuesday morning.

Police said Ghulam Hussain Toori, son of Ghulam Ali, a businessman, belonging to Parachinar, was going to his workplace when he was attacked. He was taken to the Lady Reading Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A passerby, Riaz, was injured in the firing. He was discharged from the LRH after first-aid.

Police said Masahib Hussein, son of Mr Toori, had lodged a case against unidentified people.

He told police that his family had no enmity with anyone.
